Our reserves side was successful in edging out arch rivals Railways to take out the flag by a nail biting one point. Matthew Hicks who was a late call up into the side when captain Adrian Franklyn declared himself unfit, took out the honour as best on ground as voted by the umpires. The boys did a fantastic job to come from behind and snatch the flag. They celebrated long and hard….and possibly could be still celebrating!
Roos fans were hopeful that this would set the standard for the days and the League boys could upset the flag favourites. This wasn’t to be as Railways were too strong on the day and got home by 45 points. Credit to the boys for not giving up and fighting out the game.
Great season by all three grades, well done!
