Team favourite Mitch Torres plays his 50th game of league footy for the Roos this weekend in the top of the table clash against Railways.
Hailing from the South Launceston Bulldogs, Mitch moved to Kalgoorlie in 2009 for work where he was hounded by coach Shane Properjohn to play. 2009 wasn’t to be however preseason 2010 saw Mitch on the track impressing the coaches with his pace and skill.
Although hampered by injury in his first year he showed early his value to the team with absolute unyielding attack on the ball. 2011 saw Mitch pick up where he had left off with another stellar season finishing a close second in the fairest and best that year, season 2012 was no different with his blistering run off the half back line creating much of the play up the field and helping the Roos to a Grandfinal that year.
An interrupted start to 2013 due to an overseas holiday has been well and truly forgotten as Mitch has hit his straps over the last month pushing towards that elusive win on the last game of the year. Congratulations Mitch!
